Critically acclaimed by the German press as one of the most active, experienced and renowned solo percussionists of the Berlin contemporary music scene, Alexandros Giovanos has performed under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, Vladimir Jurowski, Craig Leon and Max Renne and is a frequent guest with the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Berliner Symphoniker, the Kammerakademie Potsdam, Echo Ensemble Berlin and with virtually every major Greek Orchestra.

A native of Athens, Alexandros Giovanos was the winner of numerous competitions and a top graduate of the Athens Conservatory before completing his masters degree with the highest mark at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music on a grant by the Onassis Foundation under the guidance of professors Biao Li, Rainer Seegers (Berliner Philharmoniker) and Franz Schindlbeck (Berliner Philharmoniker).

Alexandros has performed at contemporary music festivals such as Intonations (Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival), Ultraschall Berlin, Unerhörte Musik, Berlin Art Week, RandFESTspiele, the Athens Epidaurus Festival and the Israel Festival. He is a founding member of Opera Lab Berlin, has been percussionist of the Leondari Ensemble since 2014 and has recorded with ensemble unitedberlin, KNM Berlin and others in the world renowned Teldex and Emil Berliner Studios.
